I know I haven’t been posting much on here in quite a while. I’ve had a bit of an incident that kept me from being myself. Most of you already know that I decided it was time to battle a big C. Ha ha, like I can decide that. Mother Nature decided to throw me a loop that put me out for a while.
But that doesn’t mean I gave up on everything in that time. I have been doing loads of stuff in that year and a half that I’ve been missing.
Of course, crochet is the big thing that kept me going.
All of those hats I wore during chemotherapy. It certainly made the nurses’ day every time I had one on. When I didn’t wear one, I was asked several times if I was OK, lol. I was always crocheting while I was in the hospital. When I left, I gave them all handmade flowers that had candy in the middle. They seemed to really like that, and that made me happy.
But since being out of therapy and out of the hospital, I finished off the dress and wore it for Halloween. My mom insisted that I enter a costume contest, and guess what? I won. There were several ladies that said if I didn’t win, they were going to give me a prize anyway, ha ha.
Everything about it is crocheted: the dress, the shirt, the caplet, the bouquet, everything, even the wig. It took me two years to complete, and I’m pretty proud of it. For the occasion, I actually got my nails done for the very first time ever, lol.
On another note, we decided to remove our living room completely and turn it into my studio. I’ve been working on it for a few months now. It’s coming along very slowly because I still don’t have my strength completely back, but to get me motivated, then Sven got me a lighted desk to get things started. I freaking love this thing.
I have huge plans for this. But I have to wait until my fingers can operate properly before I can actually start using it…
all right that’s it for this go. Hopefully I won’t be gone for the next year and a half before I post again. Maybe the next time I’ll actually have some art to show ha ha.
